Choosing a Film Stock

Comparing Ilford HP5+, Kodak Tri-X and Fomapan for this project.

Before starting this project, I needed to settle on a film stock. Or at least narrow it down.

The three contenders: Ilford HP5+ 400, Kodak Tri-X 400 and Fomapan 400. All ISO 400, all classic black and white emulsions, all with their own character.

HP5+ is forgiving and versatile. Tri-X has that legendary grain structure. Fomapan is affordable and unpredictable in the best way.

I'm starting with HP5+ for its latitude — you can push it to 1600 and still get usable results. But I'll be rotating through all three throughout the year.

Not sure, if i really like this - but writing here makes sense.
